Last week I wrote about Wolfire's Humble Indie Bundle which allows you to pay what ever price you want for a package of 5 popular Indie games. Well, the bundle now includes 6 games and those who have already purchased the bundle are being given the additional title as well.
Wolfire has also added some additional stats to their real-time statistics block, the average contribution broken down by OS, and it looks like Linux users have been the most generous.
With an average donation of $14, Linux users have demonstrated (in my opinion) that the users of free software are not the outlaws at the core of piracy that the open-source community is made out to be by various industries.
I think it is also important to note that the average windows user felt that this bundle was worth less than $7.50. Maybe this is an unfair assertion, but this tells me that windows users are cheap, they choose Windows not because it is a solid well-built OS, but because it is cheaper than buying a Mac.
At this point in the article I don't plan to say anything else that can't be absorbed from the graphic on the right, congratulations Wolfire, the mission was a success.
