If my email cleint had a ringer and a hook I can assure you it would have been ringing off the hook all morning.

Heather and I bought a house about 9 months back. Hurray for us, right? I felt like such an adult, I had my very own land. Well, we now have a dog and two small children that inhabit our land and we thought, "hey, we need a fence." Makes sense, fences keep out the unwanted feeses of other neighborhood animals as well as keep in young explorers.
So, I headed off to City Hall to purchase myself a building permit as to legitimize the construction of my fence. While speaking to the building inspector and looking over some maps of Dunbar I noticed something odd about my lot.
When I purchased the house I had been lead to believe (or at least thought) that the property included a driveway and parking pad. Both my real estate agent (who I still think did an awesome job) the selling agent and the previous owner talked up the off-street parking. The previous owner even came to show me how to get up the driveway (it is very very steep).

EA is planning to dump the, "here, try this for free and if you like it you can buy the full version," game demo model and replace it with the, "that will be $15, if you like it, that will cost you another $60."
This doesn't make any sense to me. I mean, how can you succeed in the gaming market (which is traditionally full of similar titles) if people can't demo your game? This is especially true for a company that produces sports games, because it is not worth $15 to find out that Madden 2010 is in fact the same as Madden 2009.
I hope that other game production studios take advantage of this and start promoting their FREE demos.
It's over... It's finally over. With the holidays behind us I can look forward to tax time and the removal of holiday decorations. The holiday wasn't bad at all. I got my wife a Wii and Wii Fit, she was thrilled, and my son was old enough this year to understand that opening gifts can be a lot of fun. Maybe by next year he will be old enough to care about what is inside the wrapping.
My family and I went down to Berea for New Years Eve, which was a lot of fun. I got to party with some friends that I haven't seen in a long time. I can't remember the last time that I laughed as much as I did on News Years.
Now, I'm back home, it is 10 degrees out, and I am working on a new project. If you visit my site periodically, or just read my previous post you would know that I have been listening to Penny Arcade's Mike and Jerry as well as PvP's Scott Kurtz and Wil Wheaton play D&D with Wizard's Chris Perkins. Well, I have enjoyed their antics so much that it has motovated me to start work on a Javascript based multi-player D&D style RPG.
A month or so back Penny Arcade posted a blog with the first of 8 podcasts of a D&D game they played. I downloaded it and listen to it but didn't really get into it. Jump forward to last week, my wife and I were talking about how hard it can be to get into a new series because you have to learn the characters before you give a damn.
So, I desided that I should listen to the other 7 podcasts. OMG, I freaking loved it. I loved it so much that I have archived all three of the Penny Arcade D&D series' here on my site so that I never lose them and they can be shared with the world.
So, I finally put a freeze on my code just long enough to launch a new site with it. Rather, I updated an older site that I had built about a year ago.
In doing so I found a bunch of problems that I had not expected ranging from hard-code values where variables should be to external path.
You can see the new site here.
I saw these videos on Techdirt this morning and thought they were worth passing along.
The first one is a clip from a Canadian version of SNLs Weekend Update which pokes fun at Hollywood for being affraid of technology.
The second is a video of Mike Masnick of Techdirt doing a UPS-style (and sponsored) whiteboard explaination of economics of abundance.
I am now with my new host. I have to say right off the bat that I miss my old host. With my old host I had limited disk space and limited bandwidth but if I stayed within my limits everything worked great. With my new host, FatCow, I have unlimited disk space and bandwidth. However, bandwidth slows a lot for most of the day and have a clucky control panel that you have to use for a lot things.
For my personal website, FatCow is going to work out just fine, but I would not recommend it to someone that requires reliable speed and/or database connections.
Well, he isn't dying. But I am going to have to find a new web host.
Anyway, I need to have everything switched to a new host by Oct. 31st so I do not suspect that I will be updating things much for a month or so, sorry.
I am sorry, but it would appear that I have lost a lagre chunk of data from this site. All sections (excluding the homepage) have been deleted.
I am working to restore it, again I am sorry about this.
UPDATE: I got the TI83+ section back up.
